It's Not the Challenge That Defines You...

It's not the challenge that defines you. It's how you respond to it. It's not the situations you are faced with that defines you but how you act, think, behave on a daily basis that matters most. Get real with yourself and take a look at your own actions that are longer serving you. Uncovering those truths will help you in understanding what is holding you back from overcoming life's challenges.

The Ingredients of a Growth Mindset

  1. Focus on the process of learning, not the outcome.

  2. Remain interested in life long learning.

  3. Don't give up when you make mistakes or experience failure, but learn from them instead!

  4. Be open-minded to different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking that challenge your own beliefs and ideas because they can help you grow as a person (and make you more interesting!).

  5. Be aware of your own biases so that they don't influence how you view others' ideas or accomplishments negatively just because they come from someone with different backgrounds than yours—because we all have strengths and weaknesses like everyone else!

  6. Stay curious about new things; don't get too invested in one thing at once since interests change over time so it's important not only to keep learning but also being open-minded about new ideas coming along which may inspire us into future directions we hadn't even thought about before meeting another person who introduced us into something totally unexpected...like maybe one day becoming an artist like Picasso did after taking an art class during college?! So it's best if we're always ready for whatever happens next without being too attached to any particular outcome because then no matter what happens our lives won't end up being boring either!

How to Develop Your Growth Mindset

There are a few key points to remember when working on your mindset:

Focus on process, not outcome. When we're just starting out in a new endeavor, it can be difficult to resist the temptation of thinking about all of the amazing things that could happen if you succeed.

This is especially true when we're first learning something unfamiliar or scary—we want so badly for our efforts to pay off! But when we focus too much on those positive outcomes (or potential negative ones), we lose sight of what's actually happening now.

Instead of worrying about whether or not you'll get there eventually, focus instead on doing whatever it takes right now in order to improve slightly tomorrow or next week or next month.

You don't need to know exactly where your path will take you—just keep plugging along and make sure that every step brings you closer toward your goal than before.

Keep your goals realistic by breaking them down into smaller steps and making each one achievable within the time frame set by its predecessors (e.g., weekly vs monthly).

In addition to helping ground any lofty aspirations in reality, this approach also helps prevent burnout by giving us many opportunities throughout each week/month/year at which point one can feel successful without having reached "the end" yet--so no matter how long it takes us before achieving our ultimate goal(s), we'll always feel like something good has happened along the way!

A Few Reminders for Your Journey

The below points are important reminders to keep in mind on your journey.

  • Set goals for yourself. You can do it!

There's no way to skip this part. Without goals you're just dreaming. Goals, especially s.m.a.r.t ones are designed with accountability in mind. So be as specific as possible when writing them out and you'll increase your chance of fulfilling your goal(s) no matter the size.

  • Celebrate your success and be proud of every little step you take in the right direction. It's important to savor each victory, whether big or small.

It's such a blessing to open up your eyes every morning and breathe the breath of life. It's also such a blessing to be given another chance to become a better version of yourself, everyday. So with that in mind celebrate yourself - everyday- for making the incremental changes needed to become a powerhouse version of yourself.

  • Having a support network is crucial. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and want to help you succeed—whether they're family members, friends, co-workers, or other people you meet along the way (i.e., mentors).

It may seem intimidating at first; however, there are many ways we can all build our own support networks through online forums like LinkedIn groups or Facebook groups focused on specific interests/activities (e.g., hiking groups). Don't be afraid to reach out if this sounds like something that would benefit your journey!

  • Stay positive! Most importantly: don’t let anything stop your progress towards reaching goals—including setbacks—because there will always be setbacks along life’s path but don't let them derail us from achieving greatness!

You can overcome almost any challenge with a growth mindset.

You can overcome almost any challenge with a growth mindset.

A growth mindset is believing that you can change, learn and grow, even if it’s difficult at first. It means believing in your ability to learn and grow from mistakes, rather than seeing them as evidence of failure.

It also means believing that hard work pays off and will ultimately lead to success (even if it doesn’t feel like it right now).

Finally, it means seeing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow rather than obstacles standing in your way of success: if the path forward is blocked, find another way around!
